Synopsis



My music video will include the representations of anti-stereotypical male finding his identity and looking for acceptance from his friends - therefore completing the brief. My video will start with the company logo, artist name and song title. In the first 30 seconds there will be a mixture of both performance and narrative shots. The performance will feature a female artist and the narrative will feature a male character getting ready to leave his house to meet his friends. The third location (after the first 30 seconds) will be set in the city with 2 more (female) character acting as the friends. During this time the performance shots will be in the same location and the narrative will follow the main character wanting to come out as gay to his friends. Between 1minute 30 seconds and 2minute 10 seconds the pace of the song slows - in these shots the performance will be more slow paced and down beat to mirror the unhappiness in the narrative. After this time this pace and beat will quicken and the performance will be more passionate and happy. This will reflect the main characters relief and joy that his friends have accepted him.

Casting Nisha Gandhi I have chosen Nisha to be the performer in my music video. This is because she has an aspiration to be a singer and therefore would be a reliable and passionate cast member. She is also at Leicester College do a performance course so she has experience in acting and is familiar with filming schedules and plans. In relation to the music video itself: she will appeal to the target audience 16 - 25 year olds as she it part of that demographic, meaning that the audience can relate to her. Also, be female she will match the voice of the artist.
