Casting and Model Release Forms

Casting

Nisha Gandhi
I have chosen Nisha to be the performer in my music video. This is because she has an aspiration to be a singer and therefore would be a reliable and passionate cast member. She is also at Leicester College do a performance course so she has experience in acting and is familiar with filming schedules and plans. In relation to the music video itself: she will appeal to the target audience 16 - 25 year olds as she it part of that demographic, meaning that the audience can relate to her. Also, be female she will match the voice of the artist. Furthermore, due to her skin colour she will appeal to a larger/mass target audience and fits the NEA brief "At least two different characters, representing at least two different social groups".

Morgan Smith
I have chosen Morgan to be the main character in my music video because due to him being part of the LGBTQ+ community he will be able to deliver a realistic performance – helping to create verisimilitude for the audience. Furthermore, this also means that he will be passionate about the production of this music video – making him reliable. BY using both Nisha and Morgan will be following the NEA brief of “At least two different character”. Also, having both actors means that both genders are represented in the music video – appealing to the mass audience demographic.

Ariane Fastier and Niamh Scanlon

I have chosen Ariane and Niamh to be the main character’s friends. I have done this because having two friends surrounding the main character much of the time will create a fun-loving atmosphere – appealing to the target audience. Furthermore, these actors are friends with Morgan in real life, again helping to make their relationship realistic. By making the video realistic as possible it will appeal to the mass audience in the demographic psychographic mainstreamer who are used to high production value videos and film.
